I went through the suggested steps from the documentation but they didn't fix the problem. Can I have some help? BTW, my Arduino IDE is version 1.8.10 and my laptop is running Windows 7.

You're right, though, because on a different Windows 7 computer, I installed the drivers and it started working automatically.

I have found that this solved USB connection problems with obsolete versions of Windows in a couple cases.

Have you tried a different cable?
