now also interruption of the wlan connection occurs more frequently, any improvements on that? Also I would need an example how to react to urequest failures via micropython try-catch, so far my code gest stuck.

The screen is the correct orientation now. Just hit the X beside the firmware version, download it again, and reflash your m5stack.
