PlatformIO Question on ending an application.

I installed PlatformIO in VSCode and was able write and upload an application to my basic Core. Now when I turn off my Core and turn it back on that application is loaded. How do I get back to the regular start up screen where I can specify a USB connection? Currently the application I upload is always loading and I can't access it in VSCode any longer. I did replace the firmware once to get out of the application but having to do that to test your code in development seems crazy.
