I am trying to burn new software into my new Core2 using M5burner. I have tried using an apple Mac and PC Window 10). With both I can open the serial monitor and reboot the Core from the PC/Mac. I have tried several USB cables including one I use for a USB hard disk.

No matter what I do I get the same error reported that the Core is not in USB mode so the flash fails.

I have tried holding the reset button while plugging in and the documentation offers no other clues.

I have double checked I have the right usb driver and rebooted everything.

It may be a faulty core2 but would appreciate any pointers before I return it.

have you tried to use M5Burner and "erase" option first? have you tried to load any simple Arduino code? or any available EasyLoader project from M5 product page?
