Adding a microphone to the Core+Watch kit

I just bought an M5Stack Core and the Watch Kit.
Now I'm wondering what I have to do in order to be able to record audio with it. Could I use one of these boards?
Would that fit into the case? Could I use existing libraries and examples like this one for the M5StickC?
Or should I maybe use the same microphone that the M5StickC uses? According to this page it uses a microphone like this one.
Could I wire it up like this?

Hook it up to an AD input of the M5Stack (ESP32).
