M5Stack FIRE has a PSRAM, but it cannot read the PSRAM's device ID, and external memory test fail with numerous errors.
      Why?

This is boot log when I try to boot micropython, PSRAM version.

I ordered on Aliexpress 2 days ago, from Wavgat.

Is their stock likely to be faulty? They did not answer when asked and sent it anyway.

If faulty, is the solution to replace the PSRAM?

@gombe 在 M5Stack FIRE, faild to init PSRAM 中说:

I'm using an earlier M5Sstack model with PSRAM and it works without any issue.

If you can build the firmware, you could build with VERBOSE LOG bootloader option to get more information about the PSRAM detection and the initialization failure reason.

            Hi,

I have the same issue. I bought M5Stack FIRE in the Aliexpress Store and I get the same boot message..."Failed to init external RAM"

I sent a message to the M5stack devs through Aliexpress but no reply. :(

No PSRAM for me I guess... :(

@jcsbanks Really sorry about the psram problem. The Wavgat store just one of our distributors. Did they refund or send you replacement ? Maybe you can open a dispute for help. If they cannot do any refund or replace, please contact me via teresa@m5stack.com

Seems like I got the same problem, is it really that the psram is broken?

I'll try that when I get home,
The m5burner from the m5stack download page. also has a check psram option and that showed this, maybe handy for people in the feature that want to check if it is working.
