      Hi there,
i just got a M5stack Fire. But if i connect it there is no connection with my Win Pc.
Another 'normal' M5 shows connection on COM9. And i use Arduino IDE without problems.
      But the Fire doesnt connect.

      What did i miss?
      Thanks

        Hi Dreitagebert,
        which firmware do you run?
I have seen versions (like v1.0.2-en) that do not have an COM-Port

        @m5stack: Why is this so?

        Sincerely
        Felix

I managed to reach the fire by putting a little capacitor between Gnd and G0.
Sometimes. It is more astrological than technical.

As i read on another place, there is a failure in the board layout and one piece should be turned but my fingers are really too big to solder such small pieces.

Such a pity. I will send it back. In this way i cannot use it.

Hi, If a Fire was connected with PC through USB cable and the PC doesn't appear COM Port, please reverse USB and plug in Fire again.

                Thanks for your answer.
I could connect after bridging GND with G0.
Before i tried to reverse USB plug many times without success.

For this reason (and because i have so many of them) wouldn´t it be nice to use Micro-USB? Most ESPs, Mobiles and many more use it and all of us have them for charging all the devices.

Does the PC device manager appear "COM" when the FIR can not connect with PC as shown below?

No, there was no COM-Port. As if it is not plugged or turned wrong around.
But as told, now it is ok. And i am glad it is. I like the M5s very much.

I still think, the capacitor solved it. But of course i am not sure.
