I have been able to get it working with the correct wiring using the grove port in a Core Basic Gray unit. No I will start to use the io pins in the bottom of the unit so I can use the grove port for other things. thanks for all your assistance.

@robski I have noticed when I use the m5burner and embed my details it connects quickly. However the use case is that the wifi details are not know before hand and can change at any time. So that does not seem to be an option. @ajb2k3 thanks for the info its something I can work around in programming, just not optimal for user.

@kylebuttress Just a FYI for anyone interested. After some experimenting I found the _thread works with micro python, which I wasn't aware of. So threading works just how you think. cheers

@kylebuttress Here is an option if you have the Grove T-connector... Then use Lego technic pieces as @ajb2k3 mentioned. You can purchase the base separately here if you don't have the M5 Go or Fire. Another option is to design and 3D print a "sidecar" bracket for the TOF unit that will allow it to snap onto the grey core base. Not sure if you have a 3D printer or not. Also, check out some of the things from @macsbug on Thingiverse as well. Hope this helps get your creative juices flowing!

@kylebuttress I saw that you managed to get the UART connection working between the M5Stack UnitV2 and Raspberry Pi, and it's functioning well. Could you share the steps and settings you used to disable the serial console on the Raspberry Pi? Additionally, did you use any specific Python libraries or tools to read data from the UnitV via UART?
